The shell and the layer beneath

Four jackets pressed open at the seam, and four tops cut close enough to sit under them without bulk at the shoulder.

RADU-FLORIN FURDUI — how the pieces are made

A shoulder is the whole jacket

A jacket is decided at the shoulder before the fabric is cut. Every shell is padded lightly, pressed open at the seam and sleeved by hand so the arm hangs forward when you reach for something, then checked again once the lining is set in. Button stands are worked in a double gauge and opened and closed fifty times, because a front that waves after a month cannot be corrected by the fit. The tops follow the same discipline at the neckline: lace is stitched flat, rib is measured for recovery, and every sleeve is checked that it returns to its length after washing. Anything that fails goes back to the pattern table, not onto the site.

The capital line

Four shells, four layers

Off-white, oxblood and a single bronze, chosen so every jacket in the rail closes over every top in it. A wardrobe built in layers rather than seasons, which is why the range stays at eight pieces.

Checked at the shoulder

Sleeves set by hand

Every sleeve is set by hand so the arm hangs forward when you reach, and the armhole is checked again once the lining is in.

Button stands opened fifty times

Plackets are knitted in a double gauge and opened and closed repeatedly, so the front stays flat instead of waving.
